Emergency First Aid at Home – Level 2

This 1-day Emergency First Aid at Home (EFAH) course is designed for everyday day people wanting to know how to handle an emergency at home, on their smallholding and in general life.

This course will provide the participant with the essential knowledge to give effective immediate life-saving skills whilst acting calmly in an emergency until ambulance and emergency services arrive.

Practical sessions will give the participant the confidence to deal with a variety of injuries/illnesses that could occur around the home and in daily life.

Course Details
The EFAH syllabus includes a range to topics to assist you handle an emergency with confidence. These include:  
  • Priorities of First Aid
  • First Aid Kits
  • Examination of a patient
  • Common household injuries
  • Cardiac Conditions
  • Adult Basic Life Support (CPR ) and AED
  • Child and Infant Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Choking
  • Unconsciousness
  • Treatment of wounds, bleeding and shock
  • Burns
  • Fractures
  • Poisoning
  • Bites, Stings and Allergic reactions
  • Epilepsy and fits
  • Spinal Injuries
Course Assessment

All candidates will have to complete a multiple-choice test and achieve a pass rate of 75%.

Continuous practical assessments will cover CPR, The Unconscious Patient and Wounds & Bleeding

Course Duration Information

This one day class can be held during the week or on a weekend, scheduled to suit your requirements.

On special request, this course can also be arranged over two to three evenings.

Course Pricing Information

Group price - £480: This is for up to 10 students to be held at your arranged premises

Individual price - £50 per person 

If you are wanting to host a course in your community, we will be able to assist you in arranging this

Other Information

The EFAH course certification is valid for three years after which you will need to repeat the 1 day course.

By signing up to our email reminder service and newsletter, the participant will be notified 3 months before their certificate expires.

The HSE strongly recommends that all current First Aiders attend an Annual Skills Update (First Aid Refresher Course) which takes 3 hours.
